Night Time is a Special Time at Casa de Matthews

I awoke around 2 am this morning to Andia hiccuping. That wouldn't be so terrible if her hiccups didn't sound like mini dry heaves followed by her making little ahs. "Hic-uuuuul-uuul-gulp...ah. Hic-uuuuul-uuul-gulp...ahhh." After 8 or 9 of them I finally rolled over and told her to go get a drink of water. She got up and made her way to the bathroom. "Hic-uuuuul-uuul-gulp...ahhh. Hic-uuuuul-uuul-gulp...ah." After five minutes she started back towards the bed and I said, "I can't take it. I'm sorry, you're going to make me sick with those." So she went into the living room for a while. I layed there and noticed that I had chest congestion and when I breathed out I had awhistling wheeze. Andia came back to bed without the hiccups in time for me to try and clear the congestion. She suggested I get up and blow my nose. This required moving Elvis, who was a asleep between me and the edge of the bed. I blew my nose. I made old man noises and I swigged some NyQuil before returning to bed. Elvis had moved over to the warm spot I had left behind so I had to move him which caused Andia to issue orders to him in her half sleep. Everyone got settled and sleep soon came sometime around 3:45.

I of course dreamed of turning my alarm off and woke up to Andia telling me I was 30 minutes late getting up. No time to shower. No time to do anything but throw on scrubs, brush my teeth and walk the dog. I am tired.
